My easy cheat strudel



Easy cheat strudel using puff pastry.

I cook the apples nicely in a pot adding a little water, sugar and cinnamon until fork tender then setting aside to cool.

Puff pastry gets rolled out, apple gets layered in the middle and 1 inch fringes are cut into the pastry on each side then each fridge is pulled into the center creating a pretty braid - like - twist - thing

Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with coarse sugar and pretty slivered almonds. If I've got simple syrup in the fridge I do a quick brushing over the top as well and bake until the pastry is nice and browned.

It comes out, cools and gets drizzled with a quick milk, vanilla and powder sugar glaze.
